Domaine Haegi – Pinot Noir 18′

Winemaker Daniel Haegi began making wine in 1985 and is the 3rd generation Haegi to make wines on this tiny farm in Mittelbergheim, Alsace. Production is very small, less than 6,000 cases per year in total. Grapes are organically grown with a great respect to native and traditional methods.

This wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, all handpicked from the hills of Mittelbergheim. In the cellar, it undergoes a short maceration of 7 to 10 days in a stainless steel vat prior fermentation in wooden barrels. Its fruity bouquet recalls sweet red berries, such as strawberries and raspberries. Well balanced in the mouth, with soft tannins, and a dry mineral finish.

Pair with: cold meats, poultry or served cold at a barbecue.
