Pietro Beconcini – Chianti DOCG 19′

£14.95

The history of Sangiovese is entrenched in Tuscany, the symbolic vine of Pietro’s region. The most intriguing thing about Sangiovese is that it manages to express different aromas and flavours depending on where it is grown. Pietro Beconcini is located in the small region of San Miniato which is around 45 minutes west of Bologna. His choice to manage and maintain the vineyard following organic methods has provided him with quality fruit. The Sangiovese in San Miniato is showcases great balance without any oenological intervention.

Sangiovese is usually somewhat transparent but thanks to the large quantity of clay soil available to Pietro the Antiche Vie Chianti 19′ DOCG has a very intense colour. The wine is also acidic and has medium tannins which will allow it to age well. You could keep this wine in your cellar for up to 5-10 years.

The aromas that prevail in young Chianti wines are red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and violet. It is accompanied with tannins that are the sweetest and most succulent in all of Tuscany.
