Luigi Bosca Malbec Terroir Los Miradores

£21.95

Terroir Los Miradores is a wine that reflects the spirit of a new vineyard. A deep bright violet red wine with notes reminiscent of intense and concentrated aromas, fruits of the forest, spices and fresh herbs. It is voluptuous and consistent in the mouth, with lively tannins and a great grip. It is clean and expressive in the palate, with a strong character, typicity and a finish as persistent as refreshing. A modern red wine with great personality and potential to gain complexity after its ageing process. Perfect to enjoy with special dishes such as lamb tortellini, or a rôti veal shoulder with sweet potatoes, carrots and root vegetable salad.

The grapes are harvested manually, clusters are selected, then they are destemmed and after that the best grains are chosen. The must is macerated in cold for 3 to 5 days at a temperature from 10°C to 15°C. Then it is fermented with selected yeast in stainless steel tanks with a capacity of 6,000 liters, with extraction works such as delestage and pressings. Once fermentation is finished, part of the wine is aged in new French oak barrels in which malolactic conversion takes place and it is matured for 12 months. Once the ageing is finished, it is blended with the part that has been kept in stainless steel tanks, then it is stabilized, filtered and the final blend is bottled. It is stored in the winery for at least six months before market release.

Founded in 1901 by Don Leoncio Arizu, Bodega Luigi Bosca has a long history of producing wine in Argentina. The Arizu family have been producing wine for over 100 years, and they are currently led by their third and fourth generations. Bodega Luigi Bosca is one of the few wine-producers that remains in the hands of its founding family, and was actively involved in the creation of the Luján de Cuyo DOC, the very first appellation in Argentina.

Luigi Bosca owns seven vineyards in the province of Mendoza, all based around Luján de Cuyo. Some of the grape varieties under cultivation date back to the late 1800s when they were first brought from Europe to Argentina. The Mendoza region is famed for its low humidity, clean mountain air, pure mountain water and cool breezes; perfect for the use of biodynamic cultivation techniques.
