Domaine Jean Thomas Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc

£17.95

Crisp, steely and fresh with distinct grassy notes that are the character of prime Sancerre. This wine has a little more depth and character in the mid-palate and a delicious acidity that keeps the wine fresh and interesting to the bottom of the bottle! Pairs well with grilled and poached fish, light chicken dishes or even French tapas.

This small, family owned, 9ha estate, is run by 9th generation Jean and Ginette Thomas, along with their son Julien and partner Justine. The domaine is located in the village of Verdigny, with a high proportion of its vineyards located on the highly sought-after Silex soil, which produces the most aromatic and pungent crisp Sauvignons that this region is famous for. They manage the vineyards according to bio-dynamic principles and started to work towards organic certification in 2017. Handpicked grapes and small bunch pressing give great juice, a clarity and focus of flavour as well as a superb minerality to the wines of this domaine.
