A rare red blend which combines 80% Nero D’Avola and 20% Tempranillo grapes, grown on clay Sicilian soil, this full and intense wine possesses the typical warm Mediterranean notes of the Nero D’Avola mitigated by the tannic and fresh qualities of the Tempranillo.
Macerated on its skins, spontaneously fermented with its own indigenous yeast, aged in barriques and bottled unfiltered, this is a wine which hits the nose with aromas of ripe fruit, carob, Mediterranean scrub and a hint of salty sea air. On the palate, expect fruity juiciness, tannic acidity, a solid structure and a pleasant persistence in the mouth.
Rich and intense, it can be enjoyed with rich and flavoursome dishes, but it pairs particularly well with Italian or Spanish salami.
