Just like Karim’s Beaujolais Villages, the Vin de Kav consists purely of the Gamay grape grown in the region of Burgundy in the center of france. It is a medium-bodied red quite similar to the Beaujolais Villages but with more structure and complexity. The Gamay grape is fairly close to a Pinot Noir – though often with the advantage of finding a great tasting bottle in a more fair price range and the Vin de Kav is a great example of this.
When treated right, the end-product should be a delicate, floral and slight earthy tasting wine. Karim Vionnet knows what he is doing. Present acidity but complimented by low tannnis. Enjoy.
