Andrea Cervini – Vino del Poggio Bianco

£24.00

Macerated for six months on the skin. Long maceration is an ancient tradition in Val di Trebbia. The story goes that the confined spaces where the barrels were stored did not allow for drawing off the wine, which led to the realisation that the Malvasia grapes used to make this complex white were vastly improved by the process. The vineyards enjoy southeast exposure and overlook the Trebbia river.

Aromas of orange and zesty tangerine hit the nose, while the palate detects ripe grapefruit, baked apple, candied fruit, dates, prunes, dried bread, and a hint of resin. A tannin and blood orange finish linger pleasantly in the mouth.
